We would be happy to have ladies in the area who have an interest in making new friends, becoming active in our community, contributing to the accomplishments of the legion by educating the community, volunteering with the veteran's and by believing in and abiding by our constitution and our country!

How Can You Join? That is a good question. You can come by the legion post and ask for a Ladies Auxiliary application. If you know a member of the auxiliary, ask, they will be glad to get you one! You can call the legion at 757-547-2120 an inquire about picking an application up. The membership fee is $20.

Who Can Join?

All women who are eligible fall into one of the following categories:

The mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and grandmothers of members of the American Legion.

The mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and grandmothers of those who served in the Armed Forces of the United States during any of the eligibility periods below and who died in the line of duty, or who, having received an Honorable Discharge, died after such service.

The mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and grandmothers of those who were citizens of the United States and who served during any of the eligible periods listed below in the Armed Forces of any of the governments who were allies of the United States and who died in the line of duty during such service, who received an Honorable Discharge, and died after such service.

Eligible Periods:

WWI April 6, 1917 - November 11, 1918
WWII Dec 7, 1941 - Dec 31, 1946
Korean War June 25, 1950 - January 31, 1955
Vietnam War Feb 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975
Lebanon/Grenada Aug 24, 1982 - July 31, 1990
Panama Dec 20, 1989 - January 31, 1990
Persian Gulf Aug 2, 1990 to date of cessation
